Looking for a responsible and clean tenant to take great care of my personal apartment. There are a few quirky requests - such as oiling the counter tops and being gentle on the floors and appliances. Not suitable for children because of the stairs. I can furnish the unit partially if you're looking for a furnished unit. One year lease required. Water and electric are included as long as use remains at average levels. Internet could be shared with the shop below or get your own. Absolutely no smokers. Hardwood floors - so please no scratches. Shoes off at the stairs is best. Maximum occupancy two people. The building is for sale, so occasional showings will be required, however the lease would transfer with any sale per Washington State law.

About the building

This is your opportunity to be among the first to live in the first phase of the newly renovated Doupe Building! This unique apartment is steps away from the Port of Ilwaco, the entrance to the Discovery Trail and Black Lake Trail, and a short drive to beach access. The oversized sky light makes even the gloomiest Washington days bright! Just 20-30 minutes drive to Astoria, when you need the "big city" conveniences, Ilwaco is a delightfully charming small fishing village with a library, hospital, several pubs, a cidery, several art galleries and coffee shops, active fish processing, an active port with roughly 100 slips, and direct access to over 20 miles of lovely hiking trails! (Ask me my favorite routes!). The local convenience store offers a range of items - from milk and some produce, to frozen food and home goods. The post office and Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum are around the corner. There's even a pottery studio across the street. And some great pizza. A large master bedroom includes an oversized closet. The guest bedroom or office is small, but big enough for either a full size bed and a dresser, or a desk and sofa. Two large closets make storage easy. The induction stove and convection oven are a chef's delight, as well as the matte black counter depth fridge abutting butcher block counter tops. Real maple floors brighten the space, along with a railing from an old Catholic church. Custom welded handrail and unique architectural elements. The ocean toned bathroom with washer and dryer is large and functional with lots of storage space! On street parking is available in front, as well as a few dedicated spaces in the rear of the building. NOTE: There is a bar below. It is not particularly noisy, but it is noticeable at times!
