The space was designed by local architect Thom Jakab, who took inspiration from the backyard barn-like structures in this old pioneering city.… This beautiful and modern loft stands out from your typical backyard guesthouse with its sleek and modern interior, while its exterior still blends in with the charm and character of our historic neighborhood. With a focus on creating an open and inviting space, light pours in through oversized windows and skylights, while vaulted ceilings help create a warm and relaxing space for solo travelers, couples, and families alike.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for breakfast or a night in, including a suite of full-size appliances, coffeemaker, pots & pans, spices, and bakeware.
Two modestly sized bedrooms each feature a queen-sized bed with plush bedding and a cooling hybrid mattress. Closet space is ample.
There is a bonus kids play area off of one of the bedrooms, including a kids play kitchen, relaxing pouf chair, books, puzzles and more. At night, the travel pack-n-play fits perfectly in this space, ensuring your little ones have a quiet and secluded space to rest their heads (our kids love it!).
The living area features a surprisingly comfy Koala couch and CB2 swivel chair, offering a relaxing retreat to chat or cuddle up for a movie. The couch also folds out into an additional queen sized bed for groups larger than 4.
A full sized laundry area with washer & dryer, brand new heat pump and HVAC system, as well as on-demand water heater complete the space.
Please note that you may hear a garage door open and close throughout the day, as the loft is located in the 2bd floor above our garage. We provide sound machines in each room to help minimize any disturbance this may cause. Additionally, an office located adjacent to the stairway is used by my husband during the day, so guests can expect to occasionally hear muffled voices during work hours. Tenants may also hear our kids defending the property from dragons during daytime hours :)
