HotPads Visualizes Housing Search with "HotSpots"
Washington, DC. - February 14, 2011 - HotPads, the map-based housing search engine, is excited to launch HotSpots, the first tool on the market to combine a broad housing market overview with individual property insight. This easy and fun search tool takes visual search to a whole new level, giving home shoppers the fastest way to see relationships between location and price.
With HotSpots, home shoppers not only create their own customizable maps, but have complete control over granularity of the visualization. The colored price points dynamically recalibrate based on zoom level and location, creating a smart layer to sort all listings on HotPads, including rentals, homes for sales, foreclosures, and even hotels! Each colored dot is an actual listing users can click and view pictures, property details, and send an inquiry.
The dark red points represent the most expensive properties and the light blue points represent the least expensive ones on a cost per bedroom basis. Marking a property as a "favorite" changes the point to a star, making it easy to come back to favorite properties. Points which have already been previewed shrink in size, helping home shoppers discover new properties even faster.
Being able to take quick snap shots of the local housing market, HotSpots are especially handy for people trying to familiarize themselves with a new city. The ability to see hundreds of properties on one screen, categorized by price and location, also significantly reduces the time it takes to spot and send an inquiry to a hot property. Give it a try!
