HotPads.com Releases Points of Interest Mapping
Rental Housing Search Engine Adds Schools, Colleges, and Public Transportation to its Arsenal
WASHINGTON, DC, January 10, 2007? Today, map-based rental housing search engine HotPads.com launched points of interest mapping allowing users to shop for their next home while comparing schools, colleges, and public transportation stops within a given area.
When searching for a new home, one of the most important considerations is the schools a given property has access to. Now, on HotPads users can see the location of all schools, public and private, from pre-k to graduate school, and get relevant information for all of the schools including total enrollment, faculty to student ratio, and contact information.
HotPads has also released public transportation icons for many major metro areas, including DC, NYC, Chicago, and San Francisco. Housing shoppers are now better able to organize their housing search to optimize their commute to work or school.
This Points of Interest mapping, along with the area mapping and demographic search, political party affiliation mapping, and housing and demographic heat maps, give housing shoppers more control over the housing search process, enabling them to not only search over 25,000 available properties, but also compare different areas and shop for their new neighborhood all within the same interface.
Co-founder John Fitzpatrick explained this new launch: ""We want to give housing shoppers the information that is important to their decision when they are looking for their next home. We think that this new release provides rich content while maintaining the fun and easy-to-use interface that our users enjoy."
HotPads.com launched its free map-based rental housing search and listing service in November of 2005. HotPads has grown from a handful of listings at launch to over 25,000 currently active listings. Founded by three college friends, HotPads' goal is to make finding rental housing easier for housing shoppers and finding future tenants easier for property managers. Listing properties and searching is free. HotPads' business is advertising based.
