The space This historic home -- an 1870s inn that was later owned by famous fly fisherman, conservationist and innkeeper Art Flick -- has been lovingly restored by the owners of local favorite Scandinavian Grace and Idlewild travel bookstore in NYC. The 2700-square foot home is on two floors, with 8 bedrooms and 3 full baths. DOWNSTAIRS, you'll find two large living areas. One is a traditional cozy library with a woodburning stove and a large sectional, perfect for relaxing with a bottle of wine. The other is a modern and airy living room with two 11-foot-long couches, a huge bookcase full of even more books and plenty of board games, a giant TV with cable, and an instant-on gas fireplace. Both rooms have their own Bluetooth connection and speakers. There is a bathroom with a shower off the library. The newly installed modern kitchen has all new appliances -- large fridge with ice maker, a five-burner gas stove with hood, dishwasher, microwave, filter coffee maker, and all the pots, pans, utensils, and plates and glasses you'll need to prepare and enjoy a large group dinner. There's also a six-burner gas grill right outside the kitchen door. The formal, separate dining room has a farm table that can easily seat 16 people -- perfect for casual meals, as a workspace, or for special dinners. UPSTAIRS you'll find 8 handsomely furnished bedrooms and two more full bathrooms . Five of the bedrooms have queen-sized beds, one has a full bed, one has a twin bed, and another has two twin beds plus a trundle. Each of the beds has a firm comfortable mattress, quality sheets, duvet covers and pillows, and extra blankets if needed. Each of the rooms has a window AC unit and radiator heat, several drawers and hooks for clothing, and spare outlets for your devices. OUTSIDE, there is a covered front porch with a long couch and views of the beautiful red barn on a hill across the road. The front porch is great for cocktail hour.Just out the kitchen door, there is also a stone patio with a large sectional outdoor sofa and table for outdoor dining or lounging. There is parking onsite for up to 8 vehicles. CEMETERY -- Please note our property is adjacent to the West Kill Cemetery, which shares our driveway. (The cemetery is behind us, and our parking spaces are to the sides of the driveway so this isn't an issue.) We think the cemetery is beautiful -- some of the tombstones date back 200 years -- and the few visitors who come in the warmer months don't bother our guests. (They drive past our house and through the cemetery gates, and a fence and shed block the view of the newer part of the cemetery they would be visiting.) But we just wanted you to know the cemetery is next to us for any guests who might find it spooky!

Rustic, furnished cabin in a serene and quiet location at the foot of West Kill Mountain, in the burgeoning Spruceton Valley area. Within walking distance of West Kill Brewing and Spruceton Inn Bed and Bar. Many scenic miles of NYSDEC hiking trails nearby, with Devil's Path and Diamond Notch trail heads and parking less than a 5-minute drive away. About 22 minutes to Phoenicia (Sportsman's Alamo, Brio Pizza, Woodstock Brewing, Phoenicia Diner, Catskills River Run Rail Explorers, Town Tinker Tuber Rentals, Phoenicia Playhouse). This home is set up as a 2 BR with plus an office/large dining area, plus a sleeper sofa in the living area. The maximum occupancy is 6 persons. There is an eat-in kitchen. The large fully enclosed screened-in porch has a comfy sitting area, a large picnic table, and connects to an outdoor wood deck (Propane grill included) with great views of West Kill Mountain and lovely meadows with abundant wildlife (deer turkey etc.). There is a stone fire pit in the field right behind the house, surrounded by mountain views and a sky full of stars in the evening. There is a detached garage which can provide some additional storage space for bulkier items. There is a level gravel parking area that holds three cars, right outside your door. The West Kill Creek is stocked with trout, and you can walk right out your door to go trout fishing if desired (fishing license required). Phoenicia, Hunter, Windham, Shandaken, and Pine Hill/Fleischmanns are each about a 20-25-minute drive away, while Woodstock and Kingston are about 45-50 minutes away. Please note that we maintain an infrequently-used garage below the residence, where we keep our lawn tractors, etc.

Hunter and Windham are quaint little villages with a variety of shops and galleries in addition to cozy restaurants where you can savor a hot comforting meal. Make a quick stop on Route 23 to pick up natural fruits and vegetables at one of the many fresh farm stands. To work off your meals, Windham has an amazing golf course tucked away in the mountains. Miniature golf and a go cart track are nearby for those not keeping score! Grand Gorge is only 5 minutes away for more excitement.
