As is the case in most major metro areas across the US, Los Angeles is undergoing an urban apartment building boom. As both millennials and Generation X’ers move back to the urban areas, new data has come to light that apartments, not houses, are driving the economy recovery. Hence, the building boom.
From our perspective, the areas where people will be moving in the next few years in Los Angeles are:
In Los Angeles, currently 71 projects exist in the ALN database. Broken down by status, there are:
- 15 Under Construction
- 20 Planned
- 27 In Research
- 7 in Under Construction/Lease-Up (meaning they are still being built, but accepting leases)
- 2 in Lease-Up (meaning they are complete and accepting leases )
