Word on the streets of Seattle is the penthouse unit of the Escala tower has sold for $6.2 million.
If you’re wondering why that building name sounds familiar, it’s because it’s the fictional home of Christian Grey, the multi-billionaire leading man in the racy Shades of Grey romance novels and forthcoming movie.
According to reports, the 5,100 square-foot penthouse, with views of the Space Needle, fetched the highest price paid for a condo in Seattle in the last three years. Sales in the building have been on the rise since 2012 (the book came out in 2011).
Despite the penthouse being off the market, you can still get in on the action by renting an apartment in the Seattle Escala building. There are currently three one-bedroom units and two two-bedroom units available to rent. Rent prices for the swanky digs start at $2,900 and top out at $5,700.
