Enjoy the quiet life of small town living!
Travel writer Bill Bryson fondly recalls childhood visits to his grandparents' rural Winfield home in his book The Lost Continent: Travels in Small-Town America and his memoir The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid. Winfield is home of the Wolves, the first school in state history to win the boys and girls state basketball championships in the same year (1995). Banks, dining, swimming pool, playground, library, post office, schools, park, country club, golf course, museum, convenience stores, lumber yard, & churches are all within walking distance of Maple Place Apartments. Lions, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Women's Auxiliary, American Legion, and 4H are some of the local organizations. There is also a group called The Betterment Group which provides opportunities such as golf lessons, volleyball tournaments, soccer games, movies in the park, and a fun run for 1st -6th grade children. Crooked Creek Days is celebrated in downtown Winfield in August every year. Winfield is located midway between Iowa City and Burlington at 45 minutes, and the county seats of Mt Pleasant and Washington are just 10-15 minutes away.
Maple Place offers affordable 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments based on family size and annual income.
Disclaimer: Historically, GreatSchools ratings have been based solely on a comparison of standardized test results for all schools in a given state. As of September 2017, the GreatSchools ratings also incorporate additional information, when available, such as college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. GreatSchools ratings are designed to be a starting point to help parents compare schools, and they should not be the only factor used in selecting the right school for your family. Learn more.
