Share a peaceful apartment with a nerdy, easy going couple. Living space logistics: Bedroom will come unfurnished. You can choose your bedroom if you have a preference. We don't and are currently in the smaller room. We currently have a gaming command center set up in living room and a kitchen with the staples, but we can accommodate anything you do/don't bring. Overnight guests welcome as long as stays are under two weeks. We have a air mattress we put in the living room if you ever have out of town guests who need a place to land. We just try to communicate. Utilities: Water / sewer / garbage is included. We pay for PG&E and internet which will be split by person per month. These have run about $50 a month. Garden: There is a large (5'x13') garden bed in the shared garden behind the unit you are welcome to use. There is a dock with a covered sheltered great for reading and shared canoes and kayaks. Other backyard features include four greenhouses, chickens (only hens), aquaponic growing with fish, good sized hot tub, and small tool shed with some basic tools including table saw. Bordering lagoon has lots of bird activity and is a really nice walk. Location Details We Like: A few blocks down the road at the Marina shopping center there's an Asian supermarket and several restaurants. If you like biking, the Bay Trail starts just down the street and goes all over. Easy bike access to the Belmont Caltrain station. Parking: A reserved, uncovered driveway parking space is included. There is also free street parking in front of the building. There are no street cleaning days here, and single family housing across the street. Bike parking also available. About Us: A is in his late 20's, works in tech, plays videos games (recently Minecraft, Witcher, and DarkSouls), and likes a casual pickup game of soccer. Loves solving computer problems and tinkering. C is in her mid-20's, works in pharma, loves discussing movies and cooking, reads often (books and magazines, graphic novels). We like to cook in the evenings and host DnD sessions twice month. We've lived here with our previous roommate for a little over a year. About You: We prefer someone within our age range (20s - 40s). Open to all orientations, health statuses, or gender identities. Unsure handicapped-accessibility of space (ground floor, but at least one step) but we can discuss options with you and landlord as needed. Alcohol and 420 friendly within moderation. Extra points if you are a gamer (table top or computer), tinkerer, cinephile, artist, scientist, or obsessive in any realm. We are happy to accommodate someone coming from out of town. Students welcome with proof of sufficient savings/income and/or cosigner. Other logistics per landlord's request: No smoking in unit or anywhere on the property. No pets allowed. Flexible lease terms (minimum 30 days) Income should be equal to 2 times the monthly rent or able to provide proof of sufficient liquid savings. Rental references a plus. Credit/background check ($30 fee). Refundable move-in deposit of one month's rent. To summarize, rent for either bedroom plus equal access to kitchen, living room, shared bathroom is $1500 + share of PG&E + share of Internet. Landlord prefers single occupancy, but we are happy to advocate for a couple if you seem to be a good fit. Next steps to expect: 1.) In-person tour of apartment with us (or if you are outside the area, video chat). 2.) Call/meeting with the landlord. 3.) Background check/rental application 4.) Deposit 5.) Move-in and signing of sublease agreements, review of master lease agreements 6.) Relaxing post-move collapse on the dock If the ad is posted, no one has put down a deposit on the room.
