Our property boasts almost 3.7 acres of land, with highway frontage, open usable driveway, a large shop facility, 2 green houses, and 2 homes with great income or multi-family use (as it is being used now). The white house is the primary residence, built in 1994 out of lumber that was logged and milled from this property, has a carport and garage, and is approximately 3200 square feet (with up to 5 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms). It is a timberframe style home, with open beams, lots of Alaskan appeal/details, and an open floor plan. The roof was replaced with 50 year roofing in 2016, and there was a new deck built on the south side in 2016 as well. The main floor is the second floor, containing a vaulted 3 story entryway, wooden stairs, lots of windows and light, as well as having a large family room/kitchen area (with pantry), the master bedroom (with office and library, as well as a walk in closet and dressing area), and one bathroom. The upper floor has another (smaller) family room, 1 large bedroom with walk in closet, 1 bathroom, and 1 smaller bedroom. The upper floor has the best views - you can overlook the back yard, which is often full of wildlife in the spring, summer and fall, or you can look out over Cook Inlet - with amazing views of Illiamna, Redoubt, and the ocean (you can watch ships as they go up and down the inlet, as well as watching smaller fishing boats). The main floor has amazing views of all of this as well. The lower floor contains 2 bedrooms, a large storage area, an open living/kitchenette area, as well as a large bathroom with laundry facilities.
The second house (the dark grey house) is approximately 1300 square feet, single story, (3 bed, 1 bath) and is about 90% complete - leaving the next owner with the perfect opportunity to finish it to their tastes. There is a large kitchen/family/dining open concept living area, with a vaulted ceiling, many large windows giving it a light, open and airy feeling. The upper kitchen cabinets are hickory, with open shelving for the lower cabinets, and an unfinished center island. The hallway has built in storage, and a small freezer/storage space (which would make a fantastic 1/2 bathroom!). There are 3 bedrooms, with the master having the en suite bathroom. The bathroom has a large, tiled, walk in, doorless shower, as well as a large spa quality soaking tub. All the rooms have at least one large window to maximize the light and view in every season. The main entry door contains lots of coat/boot storage, as well as the laundry facilities. The walls are 2x6 construction with heavy insulation in the walls and ceilings.
There are numerous outbuildings, and storage, options on the property. There is a large shop, with high ceilings and a front sliding door; 2 green houses, a chicken coop, and a former barn. The driveway is open, but landscaped, so that it has maximum drainage, usability, and functionality. There is room for several large fishing boats - and this would make an ideal fishing lodge or charter home base. Both homes have large water storage tanks, and both homes have newer septic systems,
We have enjoyed many years of wildlife viewing on this property. We frequently have moose traveling through and visiting - and have often had the joy of seeing baby moose new to the world. During the summer our property is home to a dozen full time sand hill cranes, with as many as 50-60 visiting daily. There is a pond on the rear of the property that is enjoyed by many migrating birds and moose throughout the year. There is a large garden area, as well as 2 green houses, to take advantage of the long summer days.
