Two bedroom condos are hard to find in NW Portland. This one is perfect for a couple or someone who needs a guest bedroom or a home office.
As a corner unit on the third floor there are windows on two sides and no noise from neighbors above you. On a clear day you can see Mt. St. Helens from the bedroom window. You can also see glimpses of the Vaux swifts in September.
The building is from the 1930s and has charming doorways, wall textures, crown molding, and hardwood floors. There are cool built in cabinets and an extra long coat closet for storage. It was renovated in 2007 with new appliances and a new kitchen. Heat comes from both the boiler operated by the building and from electric wall heaters.
The unit has a dishwasher and a small washer/dryer unit, as well as extra coin-op laundry in the basement. The basement can also be used for bike storage.
This is a lovely neighborhood, within walking distance of dozens of restaurants, coffee shops and bars. It is two blocks from the streetcar and #15 bus. Walking distance also to New Seasons, Trader Joe's and Food Front. You can also walk to a dog park (2 blocks), the post office, an elementary school, a hospital and more. For me the very best part of living here was being able to run in Forest Park each morning.
