First, the basics: the unit is an L shaped open studio (see floor plan in photos) with maple hardwood floors, tons of natural light, and a modern kitchen that has a built-in microwave, dishwasher, etc. It includes a custom built combination loft bed, huge desk, closet and storage system separate from the rest of the living space.
It also has AC and a combination washer/dryer, along with a convenience store in the building's retail space. The building was built in 2001 and has a secure entry system and bike storage.
The real benefit here, aside from an open floor plan with lots of windows and such, is the location, which puts you right in the cultural district in downtown, Portland.
The location can't be beat... Within ONE city block you've got groceries (Safeway), restaurants (Thai, Japanese, West Caf, Pizza, Mexican), a local quickie-mart, a Plaid Pantry, a Japanese Tea House, a gym and pool, a copy shop, etc. Within TWO blocks are city parks, museums, Blockbuster, more restaurants....
Pioneer Square and PGE Park are a short walk away, along with the cinemas at Fox Tower & Broadway Theatres, Nordstrom, Library, and... well, pretty much all of downtown and Goose Hollow.
The streetcar stops at the corner across the street and the MAX is just a few blocks away. Both are free since we're in fare less square.
