There is rarely a turnover in this one of a kind 1906 house / 4 plex on a very large lot. This beautiful apartment has been updated and renovated with modern conveniences without compromising the charm, feel and gracious living of a different era. There are hardwood floors throughout except for the 3rd bedroom which has a new carpet. The kitchen and bath floors are tiled. The art noveau radiators work wonderfully. There is a formal dining room with a south facing leaded glass window. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub. The newly renovated kitchen has, granite counter tops, new cabinets, new stainless appliances: stove with a vent-a-hood, new refridgerator and a dishwasher. If you like to garden, there is an organic raised bed garden / vegetable space available that is included. Last summer we had a bumper crop of figs, grapes, kale, strawberries, and tomatoes, etc. There is plenty of street parking 15 feet from your front door. There is also a free storage unit in the basement.
Enjoy your morning coffee under the fig tree on your front brick patio. In the spring, iris, roses, tulips and lilies line your front walk. There are plum, apple, cherry and pear trees as well as raspberry bushes and grape vines on the grounds. Located just off 10th Ave. West, the building has a walk score of 80. You can easily bike or ride the bus to work downtown, Amazon, Gates Foundation, Google, Facebook, REI, etc. They are all within an easy commute. Bus #1 to downtown stops 1/2 block from your front door.
A beautiful park with spectacular views of Elliot Bay and the Olympic Mountains is two blocks away. Coffee shops and grocery stores are within a 3 minute walk. Acording to Walkscore.com, Whole Foods market is .3 miles away.
About West Queen Anne Hill
For those who are new to Seattle and may not be familiar with QA, parts of the neighborhood are in a cooler micro climate. The west side of Queen Anne Hill is air conditioned by an upsloping Elliot Bay breeze, and is consistantly 3-10 degrees cooler in the summer than it is downtown or a mile or two inland. When it's 80 degrees in town, it's 72 degrees sitting under the cherry tree in the back yard. Eagles are often spotted circling above the house or perched in the tree across the street. This neighborhood is truly a little slice of heaven in the summer.
