AU/Tenleytown, Washington, DC

Tenleytown is the second oldest neighborhood in Washington, DC , and encompasses the business district along Wisconsin Avenue from (about) Upton Street to Fessenden Street, and the surrounding residential neighborhoods.

Fort Reno and Fort Bayard are both located in Tenleytown and are two of the twenty-six forts that helped protect Washington D.C. during the Civil War. Fort Reno Park is one of the main attractions in the area and is the highest point in the District, which allows you to see all the way into Virginia.

American University is located near the Tenleytown area, and is a highlight of the area. There is no doubt then when in Tenleytown you'll see AU students all over the place. The Tenleytown/AU Metro transports people into downtown DC within minutes.
