We believe finding a new place is inherently a 'mobile' adventure. Naturally, we want to make sure home shoppers have the ultimate freedom to take their personalized search on the go, no matter what mobile device they use.
That's why we are excited to announce the launch of the very first housing search app designed specifically to take advantage of the powerful new Android Honeycomb platform. Android Tablet users can now enjoy many the same great features found on HotPads.com.
Much like the desktop browser version of HotPads, home shoppers don't have to leave the map search to view a listing - the listing appears on one side of the screen without interrupting the search, saving time and offering a much smoother experience.
What you can expect:
- Easily navigate the map while browsing property details (all on one screen)
- Use your current location or enter any another location
- Search apartments, rental houses, real estate, and hotels
- Inquire about properties right from your Android tablet device
- View detailed listings with photos
- Add the HotSpots layer for a price and location visualization
- Mark search results as favorites
- Save your searches/favorites and come back to them later
- Share a property with a friend
Using the HotPads Android Tablet Application
Quickly find available homes nearby. Search by entering a desired address or choose your current location.
Select the type of housing you are looking for: for rent, for sale, or hotels, and set your price range and number of bedrooms.
All available listings that meet your search criteria will be displayed on a map (or in a scrollable list, if you prefer). There are many different ways to sort results, including by number of bedrooms, minimum number of photos, listing updated time, and specific keywords keywords like "swimming pool".
You can also select our popular HotSpots layer to visualize price distributions in your selected area.
Learning more & Contacting the Property
When you're ready to learn more about a particular listing, just click on the house/apartment icon and see the full listing view. This will show you property photos, pricing info, descriptions, and tons of other useful information about the property. With the new Android app, you can browse specific listing details while still navigating the broader map. The dual screen capability makes the search experience smoother and easier.
If you are interested in a listing, you can Add it to Favorites, Email a Friend, Share it on Facebook (will appear on your profile and in news feed), or Contact the Property
Other Android Tablet Features
Saved Favorites
Come back to your favorites later by marking listings as favorites. You can save listings by clicking the outline of the star by the listing name or by clicking the thumbs up. Your favorites will be denoted by a thumbs up and checkmark next to the listing name in the search results. To see all of your favorites at once, click "My Favorites" on the home screen. If you create an account, you can take your saved searches across any platform, including your Android phone, iPhone, iPad, and of course HotPads.com
Save Searches
To save a search, enter all of your search criteria and click "save" in the menu bar. Enter a name for your search, and save time in the future by returning to that saved search instead of starting the search from scratch.
