Listing your rental or for sale property on HotPads is FREE and EASY! Just follow these 5 simple steps to add your property to HotPads.
Step One
First, select the "Listing Type" of the property you would like to create a listing for. Is it a rental property, short term housing, or a for sale listing?
Then, specify the "Property Type." Select the appropriate bullet point beside the type of property you are listing whether it be a large apartment community or a single room.
Then, save and continue to the next step.
Step Two
Next, enter the address of your property. Because HotPads is a map-based, real estate listing service, we do require you to enter the exact address of your listing so that we are able to geocode it and have it show up in the correct place on the map. However, you may opt to hide the actual address from users by checking the box on the right.
Then, verify the placement of your property on the map. If you feel like your property's location is inaccurate, you can drag and drop the map to position it correctly or enter the exact latitude and longitude of the property.
Then, save and continue to the next step.
Step Three
Enter the contact information for your property which will be made available to our users.
Then, enter the pricing and floorplan information like the number of bedrooms and bathrooms and square footage.
Next, enter information about the property. How much information you enter is left up to you, but the more information the better. Use this space to really draw in the users and let them know what makes your property the "perfect" property for them.
While there is a 250 character limit for the preview message, there is no limit to the length of the general description.
Then, check the boxes next to the common building amenities that your listing features.
If you have any additional amenities from the ones listed above, you can enter them into the text field below. This is a great opportunity to highlight all the features of your listing.
Then, save and continue to the next step.
Step Four
Now it's time to add photos to your listing. There is no limit to the number of photos you can upload at a time. If you would like to add multiple photos at once, you can do so when using the Internet Explorer browser.
You can also add a caption and a description of each photo that will be displayed on the photo page.
Then, save and continue to the next step.
Step Five
That's it! Now it's time to activate your listing. You may choose the duration that you would like the listing to remain active: from 1 to 32 days. If you still have a vacancy at the end of the 32 days, simply log back in and re-activate/extend your listing. (Don't worry, it's still free!)
You will then get a confirmation that your listing is now active. You will see that you have received the direct link to your property listing, as well as the end time for your property's listing.
Managing Your Properties
After you have created your listings, they will be displayed in "Your Account."
From here, you can create new listings, edit existing ones, and set the activation status for your listings.

Your HotPads.com housing listings will gain maximum exposure not only through our map interface, but through our distribution partners.
