Getting started with HotPads Credit Checks is quick and easy. All you have to do is create an account, manage your property, and send a request to your applicant to do a credit and criminal history check.
Create an Account
Go to the HotPads Credit Checks center and click "Create Account" under the Landlords Tab. Then simply enter your information, select a password, and agree to the terms of service and you are ready to go!
Go to the "Manage Properties" section in the menu and click "Add Property." You will be taken to a page where you will enter the property information as well as property details.
For the property information, simply enter the name, phone number, and address of the property. Then, you can enter property details that will help us provide more detailed and custom leasing recommendations for each applicant.
(Note: You can click on "more info" under each choice if you are unsure of how to rate your property and rent. To add more customized information, click "Advanced Property Settings".)
Hit "Submit" and your property will show up in your properties section. You can add as many properties as you have and manage them individually.
Now that you have entered your property information, you can request reports for your applicant(s). To do this, go to "Start Application" in the upper menu and enter the Unit Number, Rent Amount, and Lease Terms for your property. Then, enter the email addresses for your applicants. You can enter as many emails as there are renters, while also including cosigners if you choose.
Here, you can also decide whether you will pay the $25 fee for services or if the applicants will incur the cost.
