If you are comfortable walking, cycling, and taking the bus you don’t need a car. The bus 15 is a block away, and takes you downtown, and to the Pearl District and NW 23rd, and connects with the light rail system (MAX), in the other direction it takes you to Mt Tabor Park. It takes about 45 minutes to walk the 2.2 miles to downtown’s Pioneer Courthouse Square along a pleasant route. Laurelhurst Park and Colonel Summers Park are each within 10 blocks. Whole Foods, Zupans, and Safeway grocery stores are all within 10 blocks. The airport is about a 20 minute drive by freeway or surface roads, and about a $30 taxi ride.

A stereo system hooks to your computer or MP3 player. WiFi is available. There’s a full kitchen with all the basics to cook for your self, but with all the fun food choices in walking distance you’ll be tempted to eat out. The basement provides bike storage, and a shared laundry area. There is central gas forced air heat. No air conditioning, but window ventilation keeps the home comfortable on all but a few days of the year.
