They never mentioned this fee to me until a few days ago and when I said that I never heard of this, they emailed me a copy of an ad they ran for the apartment that said there was a move-in fee. I don't remember the ad I saw having a move-in fee (and it's no longer listed here) and they certainly never mentioned anything about it. Plus, the ad they emailed me wasn't even from a site I looked at.

Do I have to pay this $150?

Answer for My property mangers are charging me a $150 move-in fee which they never told me about and is not in the lease. can they do that?

That's tough. It's not the ad that makes it binding, that sounds irrelevant to me (you could have just walked into the building and asked to lease a place), so I don't know why they would send that to you.

But if I had to guess, the lease probably says that tenants have to abide by all the rules and regulations of the building, and that move in fee would be one.

I think it is an uphill battle - you can try to stiff them, but they'll probably just take it out of your deposit.

Answer for My property mangers are charging me a $150 move-in fee which they never told me about and is not in the lease. can they do that?

UNFORTUANTLY THEY CAN
