Landlord has given a 30-day vacate because I sent a letter asking to get problems fixed in the house! Is this grounds for him to do this?

I recently wrote a letter to my girlfriends landlord telling him that he has done a horrible job addressing issues within her house. He had some un-skilled electricians, and laborers do stuff around the house that is just pathetic. When I called him on it and asked him to take care of these problems, that I felt he was taking advantage of my girlfriend, two days later he put a 30-day vacate on the door. I believe this is retaliation towards her because I called him out. Is this legal to do?

DID YOU CHECK THE LEASE? DON'T BELIEVE HE CAN DO THAT UNLESS HE HAS LEGAL GROUNDS. MIGHT WANT TO CHECK WITH A REAL ESTATE LAWYER. GL.
