Should I buy or Rent?

I have been searching for a home for a while now. I have found a place I really like in the Goldcoast, but my concern is as I get older I won't like the area. The place I found is at a discount and being sold as is. The nearest comparison in the building is 40k more. I am 27 soon will be 28. As renting sounds like a good option I think buying might be a good idea as well. With interest low and getting a good price. The instability of the housing and US economy scares me too. Thoughts?

it depends on your situation .. but i think buying now makes sense. low prices/interest rates and you are building equity for you future. GL.

I agree that buying makes sense with the low interest rates and list prices in the current market. What did you decide to do?

Hi Chirag - I realize your post was a while ago - but if you are like any of my buyers then you might still be looking or on the fence? I recommend buying - its how you build net worth. But I would make sure that you buy in a building that allows rentals - this way f you decide to move in 5 years - you can either sell or rent it out and let someone else make your mortgage payment. Interest rates are lower than they have ever been and prices seem to have stabilized. Sounds like you have done your homework too. Let me know if you need an experienced agent to show you any properties, when you are a buyer my services are free! Best of luck!
