Northeast Tucson, near the base of the Catalina mountains. That area is called the Foothills and is beautiful but one of the more expensive areas to live. The closer to the mountain, the pricier. A little south of there is an area called Riverwalk. It's a pretty new neighborhood, close to everything with lots of newly built houses. Not exactly suburbs of Tucson, but much more aesthetically pleasing than Vail or Rancho Sahuarita and Rita Ranch which are basically just a bunch of track-home communities. I would stay away from South/Southeast Tucson. North Tucson is nice but is the fastest growing area and quite a drive to midtown.

There is Rancho Sahuarita Area if you like quiet. If you have children even better when it comes to schools. It about 15min drive in to the city not bad. Another area is Rita Ranch its the out skirts of tucson and so was thw last one i gave you the other is south this one is east of tucson also about a 15min drive back into town.Anything North of River road in Tucson.Avoid midtown west of I-10 freeway. Ihope this helps.I have been since age 6 and im 50 yrs old

2 of my cousins live in Tucson and love it. They are both on the north side- one is in Oro Valley which is really nice but not in the center of the city at all.

What types of things are you looking for? Good restaurants and nightlife, good schools, suburbs or urban? I can ask for some recommendations

North East Tucson is a great area, close to schools and not to far from anything.

Depends on your needs and where you work, as far as school district rankings etc. you would be looking at district 16, which is Catalina foothills area. Coincidentally, or not, this is the most expensive part of town. Feel free to email me for more information for housing in Tucson.
