jersey city OR newport for 35-something DINKS?

We prefer an apartment with higher-end amenities and with views of NY.
Must have a short walk (5 min) to PATH or Ferry, nearby places to jog and swim, safe to walk at night and foodie-type restaurants nearby.

Try Bergen Co, NJ. We are right across the GWB from NYC. A number of complexes that offer what you're looking for minus the PATH or Ferry. We have ample NJ Transit service to NYC. From my Realtor friends in your area, they tell me we offer more bang for the buck.
