I am relocating my family to Dallas. Can I rent a house with my current work history? I have been on my job for a year now and my husband for 6 years.

I am looking to move to Dallas from Kansas City Mo. I have been on my current job for a year and my husband for 6. Will it be difficult to find a landlord that will rent to us without work history in Texas?

Aisha,
You should have no problem finding a home in Dallas. Most landlords consider work history of one year as adequate. Of course you would have to prove that you have sufficient income to pay the rent. A general rule of thumb is that tenant pretax income be three times the amount of monthly rent.
