We are a low income disabled older couple who are looking for a place to rent that will take a pit bull. He is 8 years old and blind in one eye and eventually be totally blind.Low rent too.

We are selling our home and are needing to rent a place that will let us have our 8 year old pitbull. He is blind in one eye and will eventually be totally blind. He has been so spoiled I really don't think he knows he's a dog. My husband is disabled and we have a very low income. We are in our late 50's and need to find a place to move to.

If you are disabled and can get a letter from a doctor saying you need this animal as a companion it is considered a service animal and you can rent anywhere. Don't let them tell you, you can. Contact the fair housing.

The letter needs to say the Doctor feels it is medically necessary to have the animal, not the Doctor says you need an animal becauase you're single and easily depressed when left alone. If there is a medical need which is supported by medical documents you can have any animal you want for the most part. You could have a miniature pony in a downtown unit provided it isnt against an HOA or previously existing absolutely no pets allowed rule.
