is it possible to terminate our lease early because we are not safe?

When my fiancee and I moved in to this townhouse we did not know about the neighborhood, we were on a very line timeline so we found this place, nice townhouse great price, what we did not know was the history of the neighborhood. We asked the landlord but said by law he couldnt tell us anything and we couldnt get a blotter report from tpd either. If we are feeling unsafe do we have rights to move and terminate our lease early?
