Looking for recommendations in Phoenix, and northern Phoenix, of good areas to live for downtown rentals (studio, 1 br w/ security and garages)

Safe neighborhoods in downtown Phoenix for an apartment rental
Also including Scottsdale and Glendale - other suggestions?
Complexes that have individual apartment alarms, gated and garaged
Complexes that are quiet and have a slightly older clientel but things to do in the neighborhoods they are in
Commute time is not relevant

THANKS!

I grew up in East Phoenix, and I love it - can't wait to move back (from Tempe.) I think an apartment in the Biltmore area or Arcadia area might be good choices for you. They're older neighborhoods with lots of shopping nearby and they're convenient to freeways and the airport. You might find some complexes with nice mountain views (Piestewa Peak and Camelback Mountain.) Scottsdale might be a good option for you as well. There are some nice places in North Phoenix, but there are also some areas that you might want to avoid. I don't know much about apartments, but if you throw out a few names, I can give you an opinion of the neighborhoods. Are you looking for a luxury high rise apartment or something a little more modest? What kind of activities do you like? Most of the spectator sports are in downtown Phoenix or Glendale. The same goes for expos. Glendale has a great antique district. Scottsdale has art. There are some great museums in downtown Phoenix or Mesa.

If I were you I would look into 7ST and Clinton ST. that's right next to the Pointe Hilton Hotel. Me and my husband just moved into the apartments in promontory Pointe, but just walking around the neighborhood have seen some better choices in the Tapatio Pointe TH 2/2 for $800 just take a look around the houses that have the blue sunvisors there's some listed on here already, but remember the blue visors and you can take a drive on Peoria make a right and there's a fountain right there's some listing information. I wish we would have looked there first, but hey there's always next year. And trust me we tried I must have went to 20 places before I found this one.

Hi Karen,

Have you checked out the Preserve Condominiums close to the Point Squaw Peak? I just listed a one bedroom second level condo unit in this gated development. It is centrally located but feels like you are at a resort with the beautiful mountain views. It is a great area, quiet and peaceful and still close to everything.
