We suspect there is mold in our house again, how do we get out of our lease?
We have lived in this house for 6 months. The whole time it has had a damp, sour smell to it regardless of how deep I clean, what I use etc. We complained to the landlord regarding the possibility of mold with a huge concern because we have been sick since shortly after we moved in, he did nothing until we started getting mold specialists opinions. He sent his own mold person out and as we suspected, there was severe mold growing under the floor, on the trusses of the floor etc. They "cleaned" it up and said it was taken care of. When it rains, water stands in the yard for a week, and runs under the house...the house is smelling again. I have also noticed that there is some cracks in the drywall of the window sills, that has fuzzy mold growing out of the cracks. The landlord just opened a new bar and says he is too busy to mess with the house right now. How do we get out of this lease, because I cant live knowing my family's health is in jeopardy because of his neglect. Help!!You must have a HotPads account to post.
