Do you have any type of contract or are you month to month. How far behind are you? Have you contacted the person who is in charge of landlords and rentals in your area? I would contact the city, find out who you need to talk to, and exactly where you stand according to the city laws. In the future, I would recommend having some kind of paperwork if you rent a place. Best of luck to you!

That answer would be yes, It usually states a 3 day notice to Quit, which if you read the notice this means you have 3 days to get the rent paid up, or legal action can be taken to have you evicted. Normally I have the rent due on the 1st by the 3rd a late fee is charged and then the 5th normally give a 3 day notice, and if the payment is not arranged to be made then legal action can be started for eviction.
