Hi John, this is actually very interesting, because Mrs. Farisa Bell, 2601 Hilltop Dr, Richmond, CA tried the same fraud on me by offering 4933 Sherier Place, Washington, DC for ridiculous $1200/month (advertised from Dec. 5 2011 until yesterday, Dec.8). This time using the pseudonym Brian T Downing. I heard about fraud like this so as soon as she asked me to send money, I did a bit of research on her real name, which she send to send money to and found her mentioned right here. Thank you very much! I hope my post will help others as well. I just wonder, why she still can do that while obviously it is public, that she did this earlier to Tanya? to everybody else: read the fraud-avoidance articles of craigslist! just once! following some simple rules may save you a lot of money.
This is happening all over the place. These people clone your listing (Relator's) and relist on a place like this as their own.. at usually an unrealistic price and people jump all over it.
I had some people call emt o tell me theywere about to move in.. to bring the keys and take down the sign on a house I was selling.. I asked them what they were talking about.. went there.. and they were there.. with the moving truck..family and everything, the homeowner was still in the house.. it was horible and these people were out about $4,000. They sent it to the "owner" who lived in Nigeria. .. and was renting them the house for $1200 per month in an area that rents for $2700 per month. They thought they were getting the deal of the century. It happens and there is no way for the sites to preview all listings. I would think it would be on the person looking to rent and sending money out to another country.. that sounds fishy.
If you gave money to someone in the united States.. let me know as I am in touch with people investigating this kind of fraud.
I am in the preliminary stages of a transaction like this as well... He tried to go the relegious route with me. Good thing I have experience in leasing (from landlord prospective). The rent value was too good to be true, landlord Alexis Sartori of CA in regards to 2068 N Hoyne Chicago, IL:
"My home is furnished the room are kings and queen size,i understand your skepticism in this issue, but i must tell you the truth and i must be honest with you, your deposit is safe with me and it refundable,we are God fearing family,we treat others the way we want them to treat us because we believe what goes around do comes around. I don't have any proof to give you not until we learn on how to trust each-other and allow trust to be our watch WORDS,as my words will always be my BONDS."
Hey Paul, I just looked into this apartment and Alexis Santori seems to want to rent it to us. Any more info about what you learned about this rental/landlord?
Mrs. Farisa Bell Moore is back at it.. hitting a bunch of my listings too. I hope people see this and don't send her money. What a pain in the ass she is. We have reported her to the police in Richmond Ca. I hope they get to her.
I believe this is happening with a similar listing in Louisville, Ky with a woman named Terra Sheard who was relocated to 'Nigeria'. Rent is sooo low. I've told her I will not be paying anything by mail and will only hand over money to someone who will let me into the house. She's very insistant on sending any sort of deposit to West AFrica. Suffice it to say, I'll be driving over to the house tomorrow to see if anyone is actually living in there. But beware...if it's too good to be true, it is:(
