I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN ATLANTA. IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT AREA YOU DECIDE TO DWELL TO DETERMINE THE AMOUNT OF RENT YOU WILL PAY! HOWEVER, NO ONE IS JUST REALLY BIG ON CREDIT ANYMORE. THE MAIN REQUIREMENTS ARE MOSTLY NOT OWING ANOTHER APARTMENT COMPLEX, CURRENTLY IN BANKRUPTCY, AND MONTHLY INCOME IS THREE TIMES RENTAL AMOUNT. HOPE THIS HELPS! IF YOU KNOW THE AREA, REPLY BACK AND I CAN SEND YOU SOME PRETTY GOOD REFERRALS!

OH, I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT IF YOU GET A PRIVATE LANDLORD (HOUSE INSTEAD OF AN APARTMENT), MAJORITY WILL WANT A DEPOSIT TOTALLING ONE MONTH'S RENT PLUS THE MOVE IN RENTAL AMOUNT. NOT TO MENTION THAT MOST WANT YOU TO PAY ALL UTILITIES (CABLE (OPTIONAL), WATER, GAS (UNLESS TOTAL ELECTRIC), ELECTRIC, LAWN CARE, RENTERS INSURANCE (OPTIONAL)AND TRASH SERVICE. HOWEVER, YOU WILL HAVE PRIVACY FROM OTHER TENANTS AND PRIVATE PARKING.

I'm actually getting ready to move to Atlanta, too. I have to say Hotpads has been really helpful in finding a place. I've looked around everywhere and have found tons of apartment listings through it. I'm sure it'll help you out too Tamiko! (I'm sure Colleen's link will be helpful too) Other than hotpads, the only other site I thought was helpful during my search was rentjungle.com Pretty similar to Hotpads but they have a few more listings available but they do take you to other websites (kind of like Google).
