I owe a lot of credit cards money and haven't paid in a couple of years. I have good rental history. Can I get a lease on a hous?

I want to rent a house. I owe a lot on credit cards and haven't paid on them in a couple of years. I have a good rental history with my apartment. what are my chances?

It is possible. Some Landlords will over look the credit scores if you have a stable salary and good history of paying your rent...

It's certainly going to make it more difficult, as I'm sure your credit score isn't going to be as high as it could be. However, if you can prove that you make more than enough to cover the rent, have good references, and offer to pay a larger security deposit, you'll be better off. You may want to check out individual owners renting their homes, or smaller property management companies. Many of the larger complexes have minimum credit score requirements that tenants must fulfill.
