Can you rent a house if you're collecting unemployment?

I currently reside in NJ but I would like to move to Kissimmee/Orlando. However I'm currently colleting unemployment but there's a good possibility of an employment opportunity in Lake Mary. I wpould like to know if I am able to rent a house even though I'm collecting unemployment?

Good question, I like to know that answer as well. I'm in the same situation and wanting to relocate to Kissimmee/Poinciana. I know rental management properties ask for like 3x times your monthly income to qualify. Though, not at first have that qualifications, but I am able to afford my borderline rent and able to get temp jobs until a permament job comes along.

I know these questions are old but for those who want to know..... If you are out of state and collecting unemployment you will have to register with the State of Florida Unemployment but you want to keep collecting your unemployment payment through the State you are receiving the payments from. Reason being is the State of Florida Max pay out in unemployment is $275.00 per week. Also the rental income you receive you will have to report as income and it will count against the unemployment payments.
