DON'T take your family to greeley. it is not a nice place nor very safe for families.
for that price you'd probably have to go out of denver a bit, but north englewood or some parts of westminster are nice. you could also go into east denver/west aurora (but don't get too far east in aurora).

That is BS from Kayla! I grew up in Greeley, currently have a sister who raised 4 kids and still lives there, and my niece is now raising her kids in Greeley. That's absolute CRAP! The West side of Greeley has many nice new developments, the East and North side do tend to have more working class, modest neighborhoods, it's safer than Englewood anyday! If going to the Metro Area, I'd say, try the WESTERN suburbs of Denver: Arvada, Westminster and Lakewood rather than Englewood...Englewood is a LOT more sketchy than Greeley. And Aurora is a really touch and go, huge rambling suburb. Not easy to say where would be best there. Ft. Collins is great, all round too. Good luck!

There a Place in Littleton Area. Progress Park Apts, Close to public parks, my wife & I moved here back in 2000, as newlyweds. We have loved this place. Quiet, close to parks, family & pet friendly. Very courteous neighbors. Great community gatherings.

When looking for a safe neighborhood in an unfamiliar area, look for the amount of parked cars along the street. Parked cars along the street can created safety problems for pedestrians, small children and animals.
Notice the upkeep of the property, and do this on foot. If there is grass for pets and make sure there is not poop lying around the commons area. Go in the elevator if there is one, and walk through the fire escape stairways: smell for odors and trash "hidden" and left in the stairways. This means negligence of the property managers or inconsiderate neighbors.
