Navigating Chicago- how easy is it to drive downtown or take the L to work?
Follow up question- I'm moving from Richmond to Chicago. I have a job downtown near "the Loop"... should I live downtown or is taking the L pretty easy? I could also bring my car, but I was thinking it would be impossible to get around Chicago during rush hour. Basically just trying to figure out what neighborhoods I should narrow my search to. Commuter and local public transportation (buses and trains) are better than average. The L is easy if you live in the city. They pretty much cover all the loop. Go to CTA or RTA Metra Website for chicago and you can view the system maps to various neighborhoods and suburgs.
