My husband transfered to San Antonio for his job and can't find a property management company to approve us for a home because of a few slow pays & 1 eviction 3 yrs ago due to lay offs, what do we do?

Due to myself going through a horrible divorce in 2008 and then being laid off in 2009, my husband and I's credit is shot. So far, no one will approve us for a rental property and we have fantastic rental history the past 3 years. My husband's company is even giving us a relocation package of $5k for house deposit and first month's rent and he also makes between $7k-$8k gross per month. Currently, I live in Vegas with our 3 kids and he lives in San Antonio alone because we can't find a home someone will approve us for. What can we do so we can be a family again and not have to pay for 2 households in 2 different states?
