The rental prices in Boston have become ridiculous. I have lived in Boston for more than 5 years, and it is just insane what s going on in the rental market at the moment. Realtors as well as owners are truly milking people to the maximum possible rental price (welcome to capitalism); although they know that these apartments are not the true rental value.

I wish could tell new comers to refuse these way-over-priced apartments!!! One recommendation I can make is: If you can, wait until Nov, Dec or even Jan or May/June this is when you can bargain with realtors and owners for a reduction of the rental price (I was able to reduced my current apartment from $2300 to $2000). However as long as the influx of students (parents) are will to pay these crazy prices there is not much anyone can do!
