Looking for a safe laid back beach to live on. We really want to live on the beach, not blocks away. I know that will be hard to do :-) I have added more info in the detail area:

My husband and I are moving to Virginia Beach. We can afford around 1300 in rent. And would really love to live literally ON the beach. I know that it will be hard to find a rental but we're fine with something small and older. I was considering the Willoughby Spit area (farther NW of Oceanview) Is this a safe area? Or is it still pretty bad? Also, can anyone recommend anywhere else? We are just pretty laid back and chill and want a mellow uncrowded beach to live on.
