How can I find out if the person who has the house listed is not a scam? They are saying they don't want to use a realtor. SCAM or NOT???

My wife and I were looking at a house that we think it is to good to be true. House is Perfect to what we need and the rent is only 850 but the house is very large. I put an inquire about it and some lady responded saying that she does not want to use a realtor.

You can either check tax roll for legal ownership (this is a matter of public record, and costs money) or have a licenced Realtor check it for You. This will let You know if the person is who they say they are. If You need more security, ask them for an ID. Remember, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
