I had someone on Craigslist try to get $$$ from renters in a scam using one of my listings. I only heard about the posting from renters who couldnt believe the low price for a pricey 'hood. If I had seen it,and copied it, I would have called the cops.
We cant keep the criminal element from asking people to "cable me money and I'll send you the keys". (There is a world of 5th graders who would never fall for that). Your best bet is to get rental assistance from a Realtor. The renter doesnt pay for Realtor services and you get some help in the big city.
