Why is it so difficult to find a 1 year lease with a 60 day bump out AFTER THE FIRST 6 MONTHS?!?!

I may be getting transferred to Jacksonville,Fl from Palm Coast,Fl.. We are expecting our first child in March. I must find a place by January 1st 2012. We need to be settled before the baby arrives. With that being said.. All the homes that I'm finding in Palm Coast, that we feel comfortable and SAFE in, will NOT even talk about a 60 day notice after the first 6 months.I have even offered to pay for the first 6 months UP FRONT!!! If the job transfer goes through I will commute until our obligations to the lease are fulfilled,if not, WE STAY.. I just do not want to be commuting for a year with a new baby at home. We are looking in the price range of $800.00-$1,000.00, A nice newer clean home in a safe neighborhood in Palm Coast,Fl. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL WE LIKE, but they will not budge with the lease and time is running OUT! Staying with friends and family is not an option.
