Have anyone who is trying to rent a house come across property management companies wanting renters to have a credit score of 650?

I have come across several in the Atlanta area. One stated that if my score was 500 I would have to pay double the deposit. Also if you are a couple you and your spouse have to fill out seperate applications and pay seperate fees also if there is anyone 18 or over in your home they have to fill out a application also. Is this fair because of a credit score we have to live in a rundown shack even though we as a couple make 3 times any rent less than $1500 a month?

I did come across a company like that (Hometown America) and refused to deal with them. I'd keep looking. We're in a buyer's market and there are too many other companies willing to work with you. With today's economy and the prevalence of identity theft there are very few among us left with perfect credit scores.
