What is a good real estate agent? Do real estate agents "cover up" when they notice some aren't as good?
The sellers live in TX, and the house is empty. The real estateagent says that she "left a neighbor in charge". The house is near where I live, we have a signed P&S and going to closing at the end of the month. We drive by it at least once a week since we made the offer - just to check. During the recent storm, we found a tree had fallen on it and took pictures (of course we never go into the house! Don't have a key or access!!!), which I emailed to my attorney and both agents. The neighbor in charge had NOT contacted the sellingagent, and she sent a NASTY email to my agent telling her we were trespassing, and that the sellers did not want us on their property. I asked Mass State PD and they told me that ANYhome on the market NOT MARKED "BY APPOINTMENT ONLY" is an invitation for people to drive up to it and look around. None of the attorneys have appointed the neighbor nor have told me we have broken the law. The house still has a for sale sign. It is still listed as active with offer to purchase (done on Sept 26), financing is approved. Appraisal is approved. She had it listed as of the week we signed the P&S as available for rent. Some work colleagues in the market for rent to own called her (its coincidence I found out!), and the broker was actually going to host "an open house" the day of the storm. She told one of them, "I have to cancel the open house because of the upcoming storm, but its also under agreement" - when they asked "well why were you having an open house" she said "I was hedging my bets". They also showed me at the time that on some sites it was listed as 3800 sf and others as 3000. When one of them called, she said it was 3800 sf (its not, its in effect 3000 sf). My broker wont do anything, said she has to be nice and that I should keep my mouth shut... Am I crazy for protecting our investment?
