e landlord's error, do i have a legal right to have him reduce the rent to what is in the lease?

I'm not going to answer that ? but I will say that it is only right for you to pay what you originally agreed to, otherwise don't you kind of think for you to go after them for the lower rent would be a bit underhanded?
