    Annapolis is the state capital of Maryland. The city has a population of 36,524. It is the home of the United States Naval Academy, which also provides sporting entertainment for the the city. The city itself sits on the Chesapeake Bay and is a great place for the best seafood in the area. The State Capitol and several historical museums are located in the historical downtown area of the town. Annapolis has a rich tradition of history dating back to the colonial era. There are even some original houses that remain in the area. Annapolis is approximately an hour drive from both Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. A portion of residents do try to commute every day to these cities. Their are a multitude of different living options inside the city and in the surrounding areas, ranging from upscale urban apartments to residential houses.
